Veldhuis, Jacob ter (Composer)
Description:
Originally, the composition was written for the American string quartet Ethel, who premiered it at the Tribeca New Music Festival, on a speech groove concert featuring composers Scott Johnson, Steve Reich and JacobTV at the Flea Theater in New York City, May 7 2008 after which the Wall Street Journal wrote: ‘JacobTV’s new work makes many a hip-hop artist look sedate’. Ethel’s Viola player Ralph Farris said that the music almost made him vomit. It was meant as a compliment.
