Description:
With Pastorale 1,2 and 3 I intended to write a piece with sheep language in a more detailed and specific way. So far I did not succeed in recording suitable grooves of sheep talk.
I believe that the bleating of sheep could have been the musical inspiration for early polyphony in Europe. I discovered that the members of a herd seem to be bloating in a certain ‘herd’-key.
In the middle ages, monks inevitably listened to animals all day long. Ans monks were the first composers! Could they not have been inspired by the bloating of sheep outside? Of course, there were pigs, horses, cows and chicken around, but the bloating of sheep comes closest to the human voice…
