Remarks: The multi media piece Perfect Person was composed in 2021, inspired by a confession on Youtube by then 19 year old Australian model and influencer Essena O’Neill: ‘Why I’m really quitting social media’ in 2015. The concert video was created by Kristien Kerstens, created with financial support from the Dutch Investeringsfonds.

Description:
As a girl, Essena O’Neill started living in a make-believe world on social media. She filmed everything she did and became rich and famous as a model and influencer.
She strived to become a perfect person, but in doing so, she became depressed, realising that she no longer knew what was real and what was not. At 19 she regrets wasting all these years and made her worldwide confession on Youtube.
