Description:
BILLIE was written in 2003, commissioned by and dedicated to the American saxophonist Connie Frigo, who premiered it at the 13th World Sax Congress in Minneapolis, July of 2003. An ad lib. Piano part was added later, as well as a concert video. By Chris Barrick.
The score is based on the original speaking voice of Billie Holiday, from radio interviews during her career.
