composition
Sheet Music : for solo or ensemble / Jobina Tinnemans
Description:
The iconography is immediately clear: Sheet Music reduces Jobina Tinnemans’ sound practice to its very essence, to a stylised sound world which connects both to the granular sound processing characteristic of Tinnemans’ earlier work in electronic music and to the natural sound textures present in much of her more recent music.
In Sheet Music, and the series of conceptual works of which it is part, Tinnemans explores the intrinsic, objective qualities of sheet music, cross-pollinating composition with design to focus on the expressivity of paper, its physicality, and the act of page-turning.
