Remarks: Goldrush, for percussion duo, was written March 1995 for the Safri Duo, who performed it worldwide over 50 times. Goldrush is also the title piece of their fourth album on Chandos. Description:
By request of the legendary Safari Duo, Goldrush involves the whole family of percussion instruments. Although music is an abstract art form it can tell stories too. 'Goldrush' is an adventure; while listening, you can imagine people exploring new land in search of gold which led to so many catastrophes in the history of mankind. In the coda, at the end of a thorough musical expedition, the musicians discover the pure, shining gold, represented by crotales, chimes and the glockenspiel.
