Description:
The duration of "The World in Five Parts" is between 5 and 7 minutes.
There are 5 parts: Asia, Europe, Australia, Americas and Africa.

Of course it is impossible to present a whole continent in just 1 minute of music, but I tried:
Asia is purely pentatonic, Europe is diatonic and contains classical elements, Australia is a fantasy on the didgeridoo (the first letters of the names of the 5 continents form the didgeridoo-theme in bar 64 to 70: A, A, A, E, A), Americas is a blues with latin elements and Africa contains a rhythmical and syncopated repetition-structure.

The five continents can be played in one go without interruption, but if you can perform a short break (GP) between the 5 parts: between bar 23/24, between bar 45/46, between bar 76/77 ( longer pause) and between 91/92 ( longer pause).
In this case you may need a conductor.

The score can be performed by any number of instruments, divided into the following voices:

1.The soprano voice: flute, oboe, clarinet, violin, soprano saxophone, keyboards, mallets, accordion, mandoline, harp etc.

2.The alto voice: oboe, clarinet, soprano saxophone, trumpet, violin, viola, keyboards, mallets, accordion, guitar, mandoline, harp etc.

3.The tenor voice: bassoon, French horn, tenor saxophone, viola, cello, keyboards, mallets, accordion, guitar, harp etc.

4. The bass voice: bassoon, trombone, tuba, cello, double bass, bass guitar, keyboards, mallets, harp etc.

5. Part 5, for percussion: 1 or 2 players ad libitum.

6. A special 6th part containing chord symbols was added to enable keyboard players to add a simple chord accompaniment.
