Remarks: This piece embodies wind, fluidity, and lightness. Its inspiration comes from Monet’s Woman with a Parasol, which Maria encountered for the first time at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. I was captivated by the way Monet painted movement; the wind felt alive, as if the entire scene were shifting in real time. Vibrating and moving in front of my eyes. In Morceaux Forlaine, I wanted to translate that sensation into sound: long, supple phrases that drift, come and go like in waves, echoing the motion of air. The music becomes a direct expression of wind, flowing and graceful.
