Description:
The music draws inspiration from the 18th-century Korean calligraphic artwork Buiseonrando by Kim Jeong-hi. On a microscopic level, it is characterized by free rhythmic gestures, vibrato, and a rich palette of dynamics, symbolizing and reflecting the curved lines in the artwork. Throughout the piece, a variety of eclectic techniques are employed, including Chinese Peking opera-inspired effects, jazz elements, micro-polyphonic and aleatoric textures, and impressionistic gestures, all serving to refine and express my own distinctive voice. On a macroscopic level, the composition follows an arc-like structure with a climactic moment at its center, mirroring the curve-oriented nature of the calligraphy.
