Remarks: Commissioned by Muziekcentrum Frits Philips Eindhoven, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the grand organ in the main hall. Premiere: 31-8-2002 by Leo van Doeselaar and Brabants Orkest. The late American conductor Jose Riojas added arrangements for both symphony orchestra and this version for saxophone orchestra.

The title ‘Sining City’ originates from a speech by Ronald Reagan in 1984, calling his country ‘ A Shining City on a Hill’. The soundtrack is based on speeches by Rev.Jesse Jackson, Gov. Mario Cuomo and TV evangelist Donnie Swaggart.
