Description:
Since I was a child I have loved and admired the Chopin Études, thought them extraordinary and unique, and wished that one day I would write my own set of 24! I started on my project of 24 Études a few years ago and I have completed 12 so far. The Études will be grouped by opus number and divided in four sets of six.
My first set, the six Études opus 66, have already been premiered and published. The set includes the Ostinato Étude, the Half Moon Étude, the Tango Étude, the Arpeggio Étude, the Kangding Qingge Étude and the Méphisto Étude (which title was inspired by its striking opus number, op. 66 No. 6).
Written during 2019-2020, the Études opus 86 are my second set of Études for piano. I use the roman numeral numbers (from VII to XII) to clearly show that these Études are the continuation of the six Études opus 66.
