composition
Lumìa : for flauto d'amore / Federico Favali
Description:
The piece is based on a fragment of a composition by Gioseffo Guami (Lucca, ca. 1540 – Lucca, 1612). The title of his composition is: Canzon “La Guamina”. The title of my piece is part of an anagram of the title of the piece by Guami. Plus, the word “lumia” in Italian is also the name of a plant. This is really important: a plant, with its branches, is a visual representation of the concept of tradition. I believe that all composers are connected as part of a special tradition.
