composition
Flarden/Fragments : 16 bassoons / Rieteke Hölscher
Description:
Fragments (Flarden) is a composition in which one bassoonist repeatedly starts a new musical fragment on which the others react and imitate each other. Every time when a motif tries to develop itself another fragment starts.
I created this work as a reflection on the fact that people in contemporary society seems to be less and less able to focus. If you really try to focus on something distraction is always lurking. In terms of messages, sounds, news, videos, games, etc. - in short: 'fragments'.
