If I Forget Thee, O Jerusalem : for mixed choir and organ / Nimrod Borenstein
Description:
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem is a reflection upon Psalm 137. The music shows some of the diverse facets of the biblical text as it can be sometimes dramatic, tragic and angry or sorrowful, melancholic and tranquil. This is a piece with great contrasts between moments of contemplative peacefulness or great suffering. The music concentrates on the first part of the psalm, stressing the importance of remembrance and memory, hence its choice of title.
