Soliloquy : for violoncello / Nimrod Borenstein
Description:
Soliloquy was written during 2012 and premiered in New York on April 16th 2013 by Jeffrey Zeigler (former cellist of the Kronos Quartet). The piece was subsequently chosen by Natalia Gutman and Sandra Belic as the obligatory piece in the first stage of the 45th International Jeunesses Musicales Competition (March 2015).
Soliloquy is intensely dramatic and contains both slow moments of introspection, fast angry passages and grandiose episodes. Like the Hamlet's soliloquy, it is about the essential questions of our existence and the answers we give to them.
