Melomaniac : for piano / Rieteke Hölscher
Description:
I wrote Melomaniac in the twelve days between my Master Composition-Exam on June 17th and its premiere on June 30th, 2016 in Splendor – Amsterdam. Different from how I usually work, this piece is written without an underlying theme or subject. But then, while writing this piano composition I realised that someone should be quite melomaniac to combine several years of full-time master’s degree with a very busy schedule and daily obligations. In this perspective, the composition is a personal tribute to music.
