Description:
Program note (English): The 'Quintetto' was composed during a period in which the composer experienced a transition from the so-called traditional dodecaphonic style along the lines of Schönberg to a wholly serial notation, as may appear from a composition which was composed one year later: 'Costruzione' for 2 pianos.
The 'Quintetto' for wind instruments is this composer's last composition in which his conscious starting-point was music with a dodecaphonic treatment of the material. - JAN VAN VLIJMEN
