Description:
Program note (English): While I was composing I read 'Mort à Crédit' by Louis-Ferdinand Céline (1894-1961)... There was also a passage I read in l'Évolution Creatice'... the philosopher Henri Bergson (1859-1941) served as a guide, but now, after reading Céline... I had to start at least 3 times over again... I heard myself scribbling new scenario's on the paper over and over again and discovered I use the same thinking-dots as Céline. The titel LEES refers to three things... One is the translation of this word in english: READ!... Referring to the way Céline orders the reader to continue and not to stop... until the words start to dazzle... Which brings us to pronunciation of the (Dutch) word LEES which is the same as the English LACE... The (reading-rhythm) music transforms in a lace-like structure... and ends in the English word Lees... what is left in the wine after drinking it... - ASTRID KRUISSELBRINK
