Distant mirror : for 2 harpsichords and stereo effects processor, 1996 / Roderik de Man
Description:
Program note (English): The Fantasia Chromatica by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck (1562-1621), is seen as one of the highlights of early literature by harpsichordists. The inventive chromatism, the strictness of form and the balance between the character of the material and its development formed the inspirational source. My Distant Mirror may be seen as a tribute to and a comment on Sweelinck' s work, whereby the position on stage of the harpsichords and the use of live electronics are intended to underline the monumental character of his work. - RODERIK DE MAN
