Program note (English): This opera in three acts tells the story of the arrival and stay of Odysseus (Ulisse) on the magical island of the enchantress Circe. She puts a spell on him and his men, until Odysseus is reminded, by the ghost of Achilles, of his destination and duties. With his men he escapes from the island. Overwhelmed by anger and distress Circe dissolves into a sea of fire. True love prevails. - JOCHEM SLOTHOUWER & ANNETTE DE KLERK
