Description:
Program note (English): In this saxophone quartet the saxophones are treated as four abstract objects that come from four opposite directions and meet in the space. This meeting develops through 5 phases that differ in density and intensity and they represent an evolution from dependent (phase 1) to more independent (phase 4) interactions combined also with a progression of tension that reaches a peak at the last phase (5). In this last phase the whole happening reaches it's highest tension with the form of spiritualization. The tension evaporates in the air as the smoke of a large fire. All these happenings are musically expressed by the usage of melodies and sustained notes that function as an echo of the melody tones. - CALLIOPE TSOUPAKI
