Isogloss : 24 solo voices, 12 pairs of planks-12 maracas-12 megaphones, 1985 / Klas Torstensson
Description:
Program note (English): Isogloss: a line on a map seperating two areas which differ in some feature of their speech, as in the use of a particular speech sound, word or grammatical construction (Dialect Geograph). Isogloss is part of my 'intermedia'-project Barstend IJs (Cracking Ice) for 24 solo voices, 4 percussionists, tape, laser beams, slides, video projections and computer graphics (Hollland Festival 1986). "It was to spend their time that they did this game, and to excersise themselves, not just waste their time", Alasi Alasuak and Nellie Nungak, Povungnituk, Canada about 'Katajaiit' (Inuit throat songs). - KLAS TORSTENSSON
