Remarks: Program Note:
The title of the piece, Nglèwèr, is a Javanese word that means 'hanging' or ‘suspended' and is used to describe aspects of female vocal singing in traditional music.

Air is air.
Its vacancy glitters round us everywhere.
Its sounds are not angelic syllables
But our unfashioned spirits realised
More sharply in more furious selves.
