Remarks: On the one hand, the title is a reference to Amanda Goreman’s reciting of her poem “The hill we climb”, a poem and performance that made a great impression in America when Joe Biden was sworn in. On the other hand, it has a universal meaning with regard to our life in which we have to overcome obstacles but then also be able to continue with regained hope. This is expressed in the music by a somewhat depressed atmosphere, ‘toiling’ fast sections and ultimately a feeling of relief.
