Fantasy on the Book of Rings : for viola / Steven Hoogenberk
Description:
Miyamoto Musashi, the author of the Book of 5 Rings, was one of the most legendary Samurai of Japan. In a very special way he describes the strategy and philosophy behind the martial arts – as influenced by Zen, Shinto and Confucianism.
While living in a cave in the mountains he completed this book a few weeks before his death in 1645. Only in the 1970s this unique work became popular in the West, speaking almost equally to businessmen, philosophers and practitioners of the martial arts.
