Description:
This small collection of Haiku - all by famous Japanese poets from most 16th and 17th century - is following the year and the seasons, ending with a retrospection.
It was Matsuo Bashō (1644-1694) who established the seventeen-syllable, three-line construction of the Haiku. The music more or less follows this structure - each piece consisting of seventeen bars. The poems are translated by the composer.
