Aquilla d'Oro : for string quintet / Luca N. Stradivari
Description:
This quintet (winner of the Honorable Mention at the third international competition of the Chamber Orchestra of New York in the 2014) represents the will of reaching impossible things which can be achieved only through flying, forgetting about what other people say and just letting your own talent reach the sky. It describes through essential and honest passages (especially bars 37-43) the will of loving and being loved, focusing on “ideal love”, on the eagerness of finding another eagle who will cherish your dreams. While playing the ending theme in fact (bar 120), the two violins clearly symbolize a couple of lovers looking for each others in the wide Universe.
Moreover, since the golden eagle is one of the major symbols of pre-Columbian societies, this quintet wants to draw once again the attention on the terrible situation of exploitation and deforestation of the rain forest in Amazonia.
