Commissioned by Valérie Guillorit. The first performance of the song cycle was given on March 19, 2006, in the concert hall of the Chateau de Grignan by Valérie Guillorit, Jacobien Rozemond, Doris Hochscheid and Frans van Ruth, in the presence of the poet and the composer.
