Panic. Attack. Anxiety : for reed quintet / David Mastikosa
Description:
Panic. Attack. Anxiety. is written in summer 2016, in Prijedor. The piece is commissioned by and dedicated to Croatian ensemble Kalamos reed quintet. When you get a commission, for me, as a composer, a very important thing is instrumentation. I found composing for reed quintet very inspiring and very innovative in terms of musical colours and timbres. This piece is about 10 minutes long, and it is designed as a musical flow of changing emotional states. The importance of the appearance of positive mood here is obvious, and the title of the piece is conceptual in the sense of subjective experience.
