Jocaste’s (grand-) daughter : for percussionists and tape / Luc Brewaeys
Description:
Jocaste's (grand-)daughter is a suite out of my chamberopera Antigone and was especially composed/compiled for and dedicated to Marcel Andriessen and Wim Konink who performed Antigone over 40 times from the start. Accodring to the myth iAntigone is (via Oedipus) as well the daughter as the granddaughter of Jocaste, hence the title. The music is also from the opera, but the sections are in a different order and totally taken out of its originally conceived context.
