Description:
Program note (English): [First performance during the 8th World Harp Congress in Geneva, 2002 - Rachel Ann Morgan, mezzo-soprano and harp]. The three songs are very different in content and composition. The Leidsch Dagblad (newspaper) described a recital by Racehl Ann Morgan (September 2002) as follows: '... in the first song alienating fluttering sentences were heard, becoming sensual and naughty in the desperate question wheter love already stops at looking, talking and kissing.' The third song was described as 'full of coarse jokes', a song that lets you 'wallow in tobacco until you can smell its heavy sweet aroma.' The second song is based on an extremely short poem, in which a widow doesn't like to live on and dies. - JOCHEM SLOTHOUWER AND ANNETTE DE KLERK
