Program note (English): Ecce Giovanni was composed for Metamorphoses, the extensive transcription project of Rian de Waal. He requested a transcription for piano solo of the opera Don Giovanni by Mozart. It isn't a transcription in the classical sense like Liszt, Chopin or Godowsky made, but a character study. A musical essay, based on the magnificent libretto of Da Ponte. Don Giovanni appears as deceiver, seducer, rapist and murderer. Without remorse he faces his death. - JOCHEM SLOTHOUWER
