Francesco Stivori (or Stivorio - 1550-1605) was a noted Italian organist and composer. He studied with Claudio Merulo. After working as a municipal organist in Montagna he was employed as organist by Archduke Ferdinand in his court in Graz. Stivori was the one who introduced polychoral writing in Austria. He published 7 volumes of madrigals, 6 volumes of motets and 3 volumes of instrumental pieces.
