Jeroen Elfferich (Delft, 1965) is a Dutch composer specialized in piano music with a distinctive percussive sound. He graduated from the Rotterdam Conservatorium ( percussion/drums) and has been writing a lot of pop, jazz and electronic music since 1980. With his jazz group Elfferich Four he has released several albums and played many venues and festivals. All compositions were by Elfferich. In his late forties he started writing music in a minimal style for 2 pianos and solo piano. His marimba like approach of the piano is unique and makes us realise why it belongs to the family of percussion instruments.
Elfferich likes to use odd time signatures to create hypnotic rhythms. Most of his compositions are for 2 pianos so he can experiment with shifting patterns and changing time signatures. His compositions have been performed in the USA, Belgium, Russia and Greece.
