Kuzma Bodrov (Osh, Kyrgystan 1980) graduates from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory as a composer in the class of profesor A. Tchaikovsky. He currently teaches in the Conservatory and is an assitant to A. Tchaikovsky.
The music of Kuzma Bodrov has been presented in Russia, Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand and has been performed by the E. Evetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Academic State Moscow Philarmonic Orchestra, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, the “New Russia” Academic Symphony Orchestra, the National Philarmonic Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra, the “Moscow Soloists”, the Moscow Conservatory Chamber Choir, the V. Popov Academy Choir, the A. Yurlov Capella, the A. Sveshnikov Choir, amongst others.
He has worked with renowned musicians, such as: Y. Bashmet, Y. Simonov, A. Sladkovsky, B. Tevlin, V. Ziva, S. Stadler, A. Solovev, B. Quintas, B. Berezovsky, M. Bayo, N. Borisoglebsky, E. Mechetina, S. Antonov, A Trostianky, E. Revich and V. Kholodenko, amongst others.
He is a member of the Dmitry Krimov laboratory. He has as well worked for cinema with such directors as K. Khabensky and P. Lungin. He has been the music director for the animation films pedagogical project “Tales of the Old Piano”, which received the State Prize in 2013.
From 2011 he is the resident composer for the WYD (JMJ) Madrid Symphony Orchestra, where amongst his works there are several composed specially for HH Benedict XVI. From 2012 he is a guest professor at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska of Madrid. He also teaches in the High Courses for stage directors in Moscow.
He is a laureate for many russian and international competitions: S. Prokofiev (Saint Petersburg 2012, I Prize for his Concert-Sonata for Violin and Orchestra), D. Shostakovich (Saint-Petersburg, I Prize for his Violin Concerto) and N. Miaskovsky (Moscow, I Prize for his String Quartet) amongst others. He won as well the Moscow Conservatory D. Shostakovich Prize.
In 2011 he was named “Person of the year” by the “Muzikalnoe Obozrenie” newspaper under the “New generation-Musician of the year” nomination.
